This guide is for students who are learning how to write using the American Psychological Association (APA) Manual of Style and their instructors who have required this tool for class.
APA created Academic Writer to help students learn to write a variety of academic papers in APA Style. Academic Writer provides quick guides, tutorials, sample papers and references as well as a built-in word-processing software with APA formatted paper templates. There are three main functions within Academic Writer: the Learning, Reference, and Writing Centers.
Academic Writer can be integrated into Canvas for easy access.
Academic Writer requires two logins. You must first login through Canvas - this tells Academic Writer that you part of the University of Bridgeport. Then you will need to create an account using your UB email address. Account creation steps are below
First, you must Login for access in Canvas.
Second, click Welcome in the upper right corner. Select Login.
Third, click Create an account.
Fourth, fill out your information. You must use your UB email address.
