Peer-reviewed Articles
Also known as scholarly or academic articles, peer-reviewed are the main resources for literature reviews and academic papers. Below are their key features:
  • Written and reviewed by scholars and provide new research, analysis, or information about a specific topic.
  • Put through rigorous review and testing of theories and outcomes prior to publication.
  • Usually focused on a narrow subject or a single case study
  • Intended for an academic audience

The following databases are good places to find resources in educational leadership.
Scholarly Books
Use the tabs to the right to select the Books page and view UB's collection of educational leadership texts.
Scholarly books frequently have some differences from academic journals:
  •   Written broader subjects areas, generally
  •   May be collections of related chapters by different authors
  •   Limited to less updated information

Remember, searching within a promising book can help you use only those sections that relate to your own research.
